  • About the Club

    • Real Sociedad de Fútbol was founded on September 7, 1909, in San Sebastián, Basque Country, by a group of local football enthusiasts. From the start, the club has been a symbol of Gipuzkoan pride.

    • The club won its first Copa del Rey in 1909 under the name Club Ciclista, and later again in 1987 as Real Sociedad.

    • In the early 1980s, Real Sociedad enjoyed its most glorious period, winning two consecutive La Liga titles (1980–81 and 1981–82) with legends like Arconada, Zamora, and López Ufarte.

    • In 1993, the club moved from the old Atocha stadium to the modern Anoeta Stadium (now Reale Arena), marking a significant step forward.

    • In 2020, Real Sociedad won the Copa del Rey again, reaffirming its status among Spain’s top clubs.
