About the Circuit

  • It was built in 1922 by the Automobile Club of Milan, becoming the third permanent circuit in the world. Its original design included a mixed road layout and a dangerous banked oval.

  • Monza is known for its long straights and fast corners, making it one of the fastest circuits in the championship.

  • Over the years, chicanes have been added to reduce speed in dangerous areas and run-off areas have been expanded.

  • Monza is known for holding the record for the highest average speed in a Formula 1 race, set by Michael Schumacher in 2003.

  • The circuit is located within Monza Park, the largest walled park in Europe.
