About the tournament Conde de Godó - Open Banc Sabadell
The Conde de Godó Trophy is an emblematic tournament of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899, created in 1953 by the Board of Directors chaired by Carlos Godó Valls.
Over the years, it has become a prominent sporting and social event in Barcelona, attracting Grand Slam champions and world tennis figures.
The trophy, designed in 1953 by jewelers Soler Cabot, is a work of art in sterling silver weighing 13 kilos and worth 36 thousand euros.
The club, founded in 1899 by English families, has grown and evolved, moving to the current facilities in Pedralbes.
In the 21st century, significant improvements have been made, such as the opening of the Sports Center in 2009 and the creation of new facilities to meet the needs of members.
